Description
The Operational Level Response to HazMat/WMD Incidents Train-the-Trainer course expands training capacity by teaching qualified candidates to teach the Operational Level Response to HazMat/WMD Incidents (PER-212) course under a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Upon completion, participants will be prepared to teach responders in their jurisdiction how to respond to a weapons of mass destruction (WMD)/hazardous materials incident and how to preclude the spread of the hazard to the public and the environment using the PER-212 course. The PER-212-1 provides jurisdictions an alternative method to deliver the PER-212 course training.
Objectives
At the end of this course, participants (Trainers) will be able to present the content of Operational Level Response to HazMat/WMD Incidents (PER-212) course, identify key principles of adult learning, and be familiar with:
* Pre- and post-test procedures
* Registration and course evaluations
* Pro Board test procedures
* Pro Board Operational Level Response to HazMat/WMD Incidents (PER-212) course skills evaluation procedures
* Conducting a final activity for non-Pro Board PER-212 courses
NTED Prerequisites
Participants must have successfully completed the following courses before attending the course.
* AWR-160-W: WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders, Web-based or a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) NFPA 472-approved awareness course
* PER-212: Operational Level Response to HazMat/WMD Incidents
Other Prerequisites
Participants must also be certified to the Pro Board (or the equivalent IFSAC certification) operations or technician level.
